Howdy Bobcats and Families!
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! My name is Mrs. Armentrout, and I am so excited to be your child’s second grade teacher. This will be my fourth year teaching second grade and my second year in Celina, and I cannot wait to begin this amazing journey with you and your student.
Second grade is such a special year filled with new challenges, exciting learning experiences, and incredible growth. Most importantly, we will work together to build a classroom family where every student feels safe, loved, and successful. I can’t wait to celebrate all the progress and accomplishments your child will make!
A little bit about me: I grew up nearby in Allen, TX, and I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). My husband, Jack, works as a Project Engineer, and we live in Celina with our cocker spaniel, Daisy, and our orange tabby cat, Finn. Outside of school, I love visiting the square, reading, exercising, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
It is truly an honor to be part of your child’s educational journey. I look forward to working alongside you this year to make second grade a fun, memorable, and successful experience for your child.
With excitement,
Mrs. Armentrout

Our class will be using Class Dojo to help us stay in constant communication. Parent accounts can be set up with a parent code or with an email invitation. Both of these methods to get connected must be started by your child's teacher. Please follow the instructions to join our class.
Please be sure to check your child's Daily Folders every day. This is where behavior notes if needed will be, daily notes, high frequency words, and other information will be sent home in this folder (I will notify you if a note is coming home). If the behavior calendar is blank, this means your child had a GREAT DAY! This is also where you can send notes to school if needed.
Please check your child's bobcat folder each Thursday. This will be where their graded papers and any important information from our grade level or school will be sent home. Thursday folders need to be returned on Fridays.
PROCEDURES
Dress: Please send your child in TENNIS SHOES/SNEAKERS every day (with the exception of picture day). Sneakers are MANDATORY for PE. They will be participating in various activities throughout the day and want to ensure they have safe footwear!
Snacks: Students may bring a healthy snack and labeled water bottle with a spill-proof lid each day. Please no screw-top bottles or Stanley cups (or similar) as these tend to spill. Only WATER is allowed in the classroom. Examples of appropriate snacks are Cheez-its, goldfish, granola bars, and pretzels. Please do not sending anything with nuts due to allergies.
Sometimes we don’t have time to pack a snack at home, we forget it, or we are still hungry after we finish our snack. We have a long time from breakfast to lunch and to end of our day... I want to make sure every kiddo has a full tummy! Please use the Amazon link below if you would like to donate snacks. Thank you for your support!
Birthdays: I would love to celebrate your child on their special day! You may drop off a labeled, store bought treat in the office. Cookies and cupcakes are great options. Please check with me on class size and allergies beforehand.
Homework: Homework will not be sent home at this time. You can help support your child at home by reading together each night, strengthening their math fact fluency with flashcards, playing games with dice and numbers (shut the box, farkle, cards), or any CISD approved websites linked on my Clever page.
Breakfast & Lunch: Create an account at SchoolCafe.com/CELINAISD to add funds to your child's lunch account.
Parents/Guardians: Complete the Volunteer Background Check. You will need this completed to attend our field trip and to volunteer at school.
