Design is an introduction level course for 6th - 8th graders. The class focuses on developing skills used in various types of design settings. The class duration is 1 semester. Many of the class units will have a take home project used as an assessment.
This class is based on standards and objective originally found in the USBE Exploring Technology core and adapted to the course content emphasis.
The following subjects/units will be covered in the class:
Classroom Procedures, Measurement, Safety, Using Technology Effectively, Elements & Principles of Design, Graphic Design, 3D Printing, and Laser Cutting/Engraving
Digital & Hands-on activities will be involved in most of the units.
