Grading at Mont Harmon is done according to a student's mastery of class standards. The following is a rubric that will reflect the basics of Standards or Proficiency Based Grading.
0 = No visible Effort, Assignment not turned in
1 = Some effort made, but very low proficiency level shown. Significant effort will be required to reach proficiency
2 = Levels of performance are below what is needed to be considered proficient. Some effort will be needed to reach proficiency
3 = Proficient - Meets the minimum acceptable standard
4 = High Proficiency - Above the acceptable standard. Can use the knowledge independently.
In class grades will be awarded on a 10 point scale
9.3-10 = "4"
8-92.9 = "3"
7-7.9 = "2"
0-6.9 = "1"
Extra Credit [EC] points are not offered. Not everyone who turns all their work in will get an "A". Those who show mastery of standards on a very consistent basis will earn an "A".
Most work can be redone to achieve a higher proficiency level. Levels below a 3 must be made up to reach proficiency. Grades can be monitored by going to PowerSchool. Please note that the "Missing Scores" are marked will have a 0 in the gradebook and be marked Missing. In all classes the teacher enters the grade according to the school wide standards.
