Attendance / Punctuality:
Consistent attendance is very important for success in any class. It is also an important employment skill. Time and work that a student misses because of absence (or anything else) must be made up. Academic grades can be seriously affected by not making up time missed during projects and group assignments. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange for and complete make-up work. The nature of CTE (Career & Technical Education) classes usually requires that make-up work be done in the lab before/after school. Click Here to see the days that the lab is open for Make-up or extra work.
Attendance will be part of the Work Place Skills grading in CTE classes including College & Career Awareness. Absence must be made up. Students should also make effort to communicate with partners if they will be absent during a team activity. Though missing class work can often be made up during in-class time in other classes, it often cannot in CTE classes. When students miss or do not use class time in a project based environment, that time has to be made up outside of class time. Multiple days of missed work time can't be made up during an intervention period or while the student should be working on another project. It is physically impossible. The time has to be made up.
Tardies will cause a drop in citizenship grades, but can be made up by working for 15 minutes per tardy before or after school. If there are no other issues affecting citizenship, tardies affect it as follows: 1 = H, 2 = S, 3 =N, 4+ = U.
