Intro to Engineering is a 7th and 8th grade only class. This class will introduce students to working in a shop environment on activities designed to promote problem solving skills. It will focus on the Design Engineering Process more than projects, but completed projects are generally the assessments. We will explore individual and team work. Students will be introduced to hand and power tools. Student safety will be priority number 1.
This class is based on standards and objective originally found in the USBE Exploring Technology core and adapted to the course content emphasis.

Classroom Procedures, Measurement, Safety, Cutting Boards, Engineering Design Process, Types of Engineering, Robotics, Bridges, .
Digital & Hands-on activities will be involved in most of the units. The basic class fee is $20.00 to register for the class. This covers basic materials that are used by every student to complete the required projects. Students moving beyond those projects will need to pay for materials to build additional projects.
