3D Printing is an introduction/middle level course for 6th - 8th graders. The class focuses on developing skills used in the design and production of 3D printed objects. The class duration is 1 semester. Some of the class units will have a take home project used as an assessment.
This class is based on standards and objective originally found in the USBE 3D Graphics core and adapted to middle school students and the course content emphasis.
The following subjects/units will be covered in the class:
Classroom Procedures, Measurement, Safety, Using the 3D Coordinate System Effectively, Engineering Design Process, Parts of a 3D Printer, 3D Printing in the Real World
Digital & Hands-on activities will be involved in most of the units.
