Enable Chat Rooms

The chat room feature allows students, instructors, and TAs to converse in rooms. The private rooms option allows users to create private chat rooms that are inaccessible to other users (including instructors and TAs) unless they are invited to join that private room. For Campuswire classes, you want this feature to be enabled.

Step by step instructions enable the Chat room feature:

1. Go to the left side of your Campuswire screen and click on the correct icon to navigate to your class

2. Once you are within your class, go to the lower left hand side of the screen and select settings

3. Within the settings tab, select Feature preferences 

4. In the feature preferences section, click on Chat rooms

5. On the right side of the screen, click on the toggle switch to enable chat rooms (and private chat rooms if you want that option).  

*once the chat rooms feature has been enabled, the toggle switch will be blue
