CCEA Level 2 Qualification in Occupational Studies

Grades equivalant A*- C

Students will undertake two units:

Year 11 - The Physical Care of Babies (50%)

Year 12 - Childcare: The Play Environment (50%)

SJBC provides a broad, coherent course on the development of babies and small children. It encourages students to develop knowledge, understanding, and practical skills.

Marks for each unit are awarded as follows:

20% theoretical knowledge
60% practical skills
20% self evaluation

Careers in Childcare

This course allows learners to acquire transferable skills for many career options and provides a solid foundation for a range of further or higher education courses.

Possible career options may include nursing, midwifery, health visiting, teaching, childcare, play therapist, or child psychology.
