A main role for our students is that of learner. The habits and practices of learning that students use when at school also apply when learning at home.
Additionally, given some of the conditions enacted to support learning at home, students must take even greater care to behave responsibly and respect others to ensure a productive learning experience not only for themselves, but for all their classmates and fellow students.
While engaging in learning from their home environments, students will:
Engage and interact with their teacher(s) and participate consistently in learning activities
Collaborate and cooperate with parents to create positive conditions for successful learning
Review assignments and work to complete and submit them
Read and respond appropriately to communications from their teacher
Continue to comply with established agreements, including the Student Use of Technology Agreement; this includes and applies to newly-available technology platforms and apps.*
Ensure they practice appropriate Digital Citizenship behaviors in all technology uses and interactions.
Attend to their own self and well-being
*To support remote teaching and learning at home, BSD has implemented new online services (e.g., Zoom) and expanded access to and the use of existing online services (e.g., Google Hangouts Meet). Students are expected to make appropriate choices and manage their behavior to use all services appropriately.
