Given the varying needs and environments of students, families, and educators, the teaching and learning taking place during the upcoming weeks through Learning at Home will not be comparable to what our students would typically experience and learn at this time of the academic year.
It then becomes even more important to decide what learning targets to focus on.
BSD provides a standards-based education. Instructional planning determines which standards will be addressed at which point in time through which learning activities.
For Phase 2 Learning at Home, BSD teachers will prioritize providing assignments in ELA/SLA (English Language Arts and Spanish Language Arts) and Math aligned to the Trimester 3 benchmarks/grade-level exit standards reflected on your child's report card. Following that, additional learning time should then focus on Science and Social Studies , followed by all other subjects and enrichment activities.
See our Recommended Minutes page for more guidance on how to manage the amount of learning time across subject areas during Learning at Home.
