Teachers at all BSD school sites are providing learning assignments on a regular basis. Individual classroom teachers are communicating to parents when and how assignments are being provided. Please check with your teacher or site principal for when, where and how assignments will be posted.
At the elementary level, assignments may be provided via various digital platforms, including Seesaw and Google Classroom. They may also be provided via physical packets made available for pickup at the school site.
Burlingame Intermediate School (BIS) has a Home Learning page with info regarding weekly learning overviews. Teachers will post work for the week on a spreadsheet that will be published every Monday.
BSD teachers and principals may prepare printed and/or other physical materials for learning and provide them for pick-up. For any such materials prepared for pick-up, preparation will be done in a sanitary manner and the pickup methodology, which may vary from school site to school site, will support the maintaining of safe, social distancing practices.
As a precautionary health measure, BSD will not be collecting consumable physical materials back from households during the school closure window. (At the appropriate time, BSD will publish process guidelines for how non-consumable items, i.e., checked out library books and or loaned books from teachers are to be returned to school sites.)
To maintain the important teacher and student connection and provide student support, BSD teachers will check in regularly with their students. This may occur at both individual and group levels using various modes of connection (i.e., email, phone, video meetings, etc.). For more details view our Checking In With Students page.
