Welcome to Year 5! This year, we endeavor to help students develop a growing sense of responsibility and independence, enabling them to become more confident and motivated learners. Learning is made fun and challenging through engaging activities within a caring and stimulating environment. Each child is supported as they discover and develop their unique talents, as they continue on their journey as life-long learners.
Read at least 5 times a week: 20-30 minutes a day.
Children write a comment for each entry, parents sign for the week and journals are returned once a week for teachers to check and sign on designated days.
Children should try and complete a Reading Eggs task too as part of their weekly routine.
Wear your PE kit to school on designated PHE Days.
5SRU:/5LDA: Tuesdays & Thursdays
5PHO/5KRE/SGR: Mondays & Thursdays.
IPads will be kept and stored in school this year.
The most important things you can do are encourage regular reading, practise times tables and spellings, and talk with your child about what they are learning. Short, consistent practice and showing interest in their schoolwork helps build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude to learning.
