Kukangs

Welcome to the Kukangs! We have a passion for Early Childhood education and believe that learning through play is the most effective way to teach young children. As the renowned child psychologist Piaget says, "Children construct their own knowledge in response to their experiences" so ensuring that we create the very best learning environment so the children can thrive is vital.

Meet the Team

Routines

Children will require the following items each day: A water bottle, hat, snack and lunch (unless purchasing food from school), two spare sets of clothes (to be kept at school), nappies and wipes (if required), bedding (sheet, blanket and pillow) mosquito repellant and sunscreen applied. Please note, fresh bedding should be brought in each Monday and will be returned every Friday.

Splash and Play- Thursday (Students will need their swimming kits).

Swimming- Kukangs will have their swimming lesson on Monday. Students could wear their swimming kits under their batik uniforms.

Library- Wednesday  (Students should bring their library books on this day)

Children will need to bring in their red folders every day (except Friday)

How to support at home

• Remain positive about school and about all of the wonderful things children will learn and do each day

• Talk, talk, talk

• Read lots of books together

• Encourage your child to be independent

• Play games with your child

• Talk to your child’s teacher if you are worried

• Make sure your child gets a great night's sleep

• For children bringing in lunch and snack from home, please ensure that this is healthy and nutritious. Remember no nuts or shellfish.
