Teaching Residency at Hope High School

I was fortunate to complete my student teaching experience at Hope High School. I taught two sections of 10th-grade English Language Arts. One section was honors, and the other was a multilingual inclusion class. I absolutely loved being at Hope, getting to know students well, and strengthening my teaching pedagogy. I worked alongside my mentor teacher to build skills that allowed me to grow as a teacher.

I spent the first semester of the year observing my mentor and learning from her. I worked with students and taught a few lessons in the fall before taking over during the fourth quarter. I created a unit plan, designed daily lessons, and assessed student work in both classes.
