Unfortunately, student accommodation can sometimes be an attractive target for criminals. Please take responsibility for ensuring the main entrance door is always properly closed behind you, and do not allow anyone to follow you in that you do not know.
If someone you don't know buzzes the door entry system asking to be let in, please do not allow them in.
Never use the emergency release button for the entrance door, unless in a genuine emergency. The button has to be manually reset, meaning the door will be insecure in the meantime.
The University Security Services oversee security at Friar Court. They will conduct patrols at the building and willl attend to any fire alarms or incidents.
If the fire alarm sounds, after evacuating, please call them- either to reset a false alarm, or in addition to the fire service if it's a real evacuation.
If you have any security concerns, please contact Security Services*.
