Ofsted Reports

Bridgemary School was inspected by Ofsted on 6th and 7th of December 2023.  The report is available here and on the Ofsted website.

The Ofsted inspection was very thorough and the school was inspected on the new, more rigorous, inspection framework.   

Bridgemary School was rated ‘requires improvement’ with ratings of Good for behaviour, Good for personal development and Good for Leadership and management. In addition the following strengths were noted

"There is a very inclusive and calm culture at this school, which is underpinned by mutual respect and trust."

"Pupils behave very well in lessons and during social times."

"...pupils are happy and feel safe"

"The school is highly ambitious for all pupils and committed to helping them to achieve highly, including in examinations."

"Personal development is a strength of the school. The well-designed programme ensures that pupils learn how to keep themselves safe and healthy..."

• "Leaders and those responsible for governance share a mission: to provide the best education possible for their pupils."

Areas for development that Ofsted have given us:

Set out precisely the essential knowledge that pupils should learn based on their individual starting points

Continue to improve teaching so that teachers do not move on too quickly.

Continue to develop the support for reading, especially developing the skills of the weakest readers.
