This play was created from my own personal experience about realizing who I was. Amy represents all the trans friends I made along the way who took one look at me and were like "Oh she's trans as hell!". It was a long road to realization; about four years or more for me. I wish I had an Amy sooner, someone to knock me over the head and be like "Hey, dudette, you're a girl." I suppose you can't rush perfection though~!
