I am a current Master of Fine Arts candidate at Montana State University focusing on explorations of queer identity through painting. I use painting as a way to explore the hope I have for a future free of fear and turmoil through abstract landscapes. It breaks down to a belief that queer life can never fully be eradicated, that the earth will remember us, and our history will still remain despite attempts to destroy it. This piece in particular is part of my exploration with destructive elements as a form of painting (fire, in this case), and my continued exploration of queerness outside of the bodily connotation.
