This digital image is from a looping film of me playing my trans masculine, Chinese human and femme identities… This poem was in English translated into Cantonese and then when I blacked out the words we had to work with the translation again as Cantonese does not have an alphabet, just characters. Self expression is huge for me because of my transmasculine identity and my intersections as a poor, disabled, BIPoC artist. The props I used are traditional Chinese medicines and I wanted to share the world and uphold space for my trans identity.
