Being trans is a constant reassertion of what it means to be yourself on your own terms. From your name, to your body, to the space you occupy, every trace of you is chosen with care. To see a trans person's life is to see something purposeful — it's to see art.  

Boston Netterfield-Kline is an emerging illustrator based in Chicago, IL. His work addresses concepts of self, the body, and the role of  interpersonal relationships in perception. Boston uses bold colors and stark contrasts to distill scenes into a legibility of the infinitely nuanced, meditating on the gap between established visual language and subjective interpretation. These elements work in tandem to explore ideas of nervous intimacy and the pursuit of communication.
