The PE department headed to North America, taking football and basketball teams to Boston and New York. Students explored the Empire State Building, Times Square, Fenway Park and the Basketball Hall of Fame, watched the Brooklyn Nets play the Atlanta Hawks, and played plenty of matches themselves. “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it all come together. From unforgettable games to new friendships and once-in-a-lifetime experiences,” said PE teacher Alex Waterfield.
Our hockey and rugby students recently returned from an unforgettable tour to Marbella, where they enjoyed an incredible experience both on and off the pitch. The students competed against local opposition, demonstrating great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tour.
Away from competition, the group had the opportunity to visit the Málaga CF stadium, gaining a behind-the-scenes insight into professional sport. With plenty of sunshine, cultural experiences and shared memories, the tour was a huge success and an experience the students will remember for years to come.
In October Half Term 2023, 30 of our Year 10 and 11 Netballers embarked on an exciting trip to Paris. The girls showcased their skill and determination on the court, competing fiercely in multiple tournaments and striving to achieve top positions.
Off the court, the group enjoyed a full day exploring the magic of Disneyland Paris, creating unforgettable memories together. With a perfect balance of sport, adventure, and team bonding, the trip was a huge success and a truly memorable experience for all involved! 🏐✨🎢
Our largest sports tour (Rugby and Hockey) of 67 students departed in February half-term 2020. The students enjoyed a 6 day tour which included two fixtures against local opposition, onsite training facilities and excursions to Amsterdam, Efteling Theme park, Bowling and Antwerp Zoo. The tour was hugely successful and we cannot wait for the next one.
Our Football and Basketball Tour to Barcelona departed in October half-term 2019. The students spent a week exploring the city and have two fixtures against local opposition. It is somewhere we would love to revisit at some point.
This was our third time to Malta with our Netball teams. The students enjoyed various excursions around the Island and played two fixtures against local opposition. They also had a training session on the beach and developed their self-confidence after being away without their parents.
