I first learned about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in 2016 and was deeply impressed by the technological possibilities it had. Keeping up with new technology and reaping its benefits is extremely important in today's day and age to make sure we, as a society and as a country, don't get left behind in this technological revolution. With a similar idea, when cryptocurrencies became popular again in 2021, I thought of having a session to discuss about Cryptocurrencies and their uses with my classmates so they can learn about upcoming technologies and benefit from them.

After I thought of the idea, I discussed it with my teachers. The computer teacher Mr.Saad and Business Studies teacher Mr.Waqas helped shape this idea into an amazing session where new technologies such as Blockchain and Non Fungible Tokens and their benefits in our day to day lives were thoroughly discussed. Students were deeply interested and participated with a passion into the conversation.
After I thought of the idea, I discussed it with my teachers. The computer teacher Mr.Saad and Business Studies teacher Mr.Waqas helped shape this idea into an amazing session where new technologies such as Blockchain and Non Fungible Tokens and their benefits in our day to day lives were thoroughly discussed. Students were deeply interested and participated with a passion into the conversation.
At first, I explained the main technology behind Cryptocurrencies, the Blockchain, and its uses into the future Internet. After explaining about how Cryptocurrencies work, I also talked about some monetary benefits and how people can trade in it to make a fair amount of money, considering how they fluctuate in price regularly. Students were taught the complete process about how to invest into some popular coins, but also given a risk warning to only invest what they can afford to lose, as it is an extremely volatile market. After the presentation, a Question-and-answer segment was held in which students expressed their queries and asked many questions. Overall, the session was an immense success with the students having gained a lot of knowledge regarding the topic.

How will this project make a difference?
Learning about new technologies will provide the students with knowledge. Similarly, this project taught the students about Cryptocurrencies and their technological and monetary benefits, which will empower the youth to be independent and encourage them to keep up with new technologies. It also taught the youth investing at an early age, and this will positively impact their financial literacy and will help them in managing and investing their money wisely in the future. With this done over a larger scale, this would definitely make a difference in the economic state of Pakistan and help make the country progress.

The key takeaways of this project are how the students were encouraged to learn about new technologies and were also given some financial lessons. The monetary aspect of Cryptocurrencies also encouraged students to invest their own money and it taught them to invest wisely and carefully at an early age. Many earned a healthy amount of money in the upcoming months after hearing about Cryptocurrencies for the first time in the session. Financial factors aside, the knowledge they gained from the session would benifit them immensely in their lives and I believe financial literacy classes should be taught in every school.
