Clean and green environmental sustainability is a big dream of the time against environmental pollution. I inherited this dream from my father at home, as it was his usual talk in our living area sharing his keen interest in plantation. Every year, they are given assignment as doctor community to plant 2000 plants in their vicinity. Every year, a big number of plants are planted but they go where no one knows, as they are no more with us. It happens due to lack of initial care (required nutrients) to be needed for a tiny plant to grow into a healthy plant/ tree.
The very thought caused my father a great restlessness and a sense of guilty that he only planted but did not care for them. One day, my father was sitting very upset about this big loss, I reminded him of the story she shared with us about Groasis Boxx- technology that he observed in his Dubia trip at desert where plants are successfully being grown with the Groasis waterboxx – a high tech agriculture low cost Groasis Echological Water Saving Technology. These Groases Waterboxx help to plant trees and vegetables with 99% less water use.
I suggested him to use the same technology here in his plantation campaign, but due to his hectic routine life in hospital and less time available, he did not show willingness to carry this idea. From that very day, I could not come out of that idea and continuously thought about it that plants can get their required water for long survival without any initial care by someone and survive.
I started further exploring about this idea and investigated about the quality of soil and water of our land. Luckily, the land of our area is very fertile. During Covid 19, when life was paralyzed at home, no outdoor activity was for us due to closure of schools and public places. In those days, I tried different experiment on the idea of Groasis Water Boxx along with my younger brother Farzaam, he helped me handle resources.
After many failures, I finally remained successful in making Bio-Capsule with some dissolvable material available at home. I experimented it my back yard which was a great success.

Successful Result of Bio-capsule
At first, I tried with balloons filled with water and soil, their outer surface was covered with dough to give them proper shape of containers but the balloons burst before the dough got shaped. I did not lose heart and tried to make balls from mud and paper but every time capsule burst upon planting.
Finally, I decided to use paper cups as they are rigid and also biodegradable with time. I put water in lower cup and then pasted butter paper on top and secured it with paper tape. Then, I cut bottom of second cup and pasted it on first cup upside down and secured it. Then by long needle, I punched small holes in butter paper in between cups and placed the plant in second cup with its roots dipped in water. This bio capsule could retain water for more than one month which is enough for early life of plant.
Then I made 10 bio capsules and planted them with 10 more plants without bio capsule. After no watering for month, every plant with bio capsule proliferated nicely and other plant without bio capsule died. Bio- capsule idea in the neglected patch in our backyard really worked and now the patch has been converted into a beautiful green backyard.
I further moved forward this idea from home to local community and planted twenty plants in my fathers’ hospital in Village Mong. My father got extremely excited when he witnessed that my idea of bio Capsule has come to a reality in the form of green backyard. In the next plantation campaign, he was motivated and much inclined to use my idea of Bio Capsule. I accompanied him in this campaign and we took 20 ‘Matkaas’ made of “kachii matti”, filled them half with water, covered them with butter paper and then placed soil with tiny plants into it dipping roots of the plant in water. This way, these 20 plants naturally survived and now they have grown into big trees contributing towards the journey of clean and green sustainable environment.
When schools opened, I shared my success story of this project to my teachers and head. I received much appreciation and they persuaded me spread this awareness among school fellows and local community.
This appreciation was a big inspiration for me. I extended this awareness to the students through presentation on morning assembly and to our other two branches of BSS Mandi Bahauddin chapter. In different neglected areas of the school where initial care is not so practical, plants were grown by other group of students with Bio- capsule idea. Many more students applied the idea in their home lawns and backyards which also worked.
In the meanwhile, the school introduces Learners agency Paradigm and get excited to submit my self-initiated project Bio–Capsule. Through this big platform, I will get the opportunity to further spread the message among BSS community making valuable contribution for the benefits of wider community.

With time passed I started influencing people closer to me (peers, relatives) to make their own bio capsule and plant trees with it. The idea directly and indirectly was disseminated among my school and my closer community, which will be a little step as individual to make a big contribution in saving the early life of plants.
In the next step, I submitted this project to the District Forest office by introducing its unique features of saving time and money and how survival can be made possible of all plants which are at risk and die due to dearth of initial care and required water. My efforts were highly recognized by the officials and I was awarded with appreciation certificate. The District Forest Authorities showed commitment to share this project to relevant technical department to practically apply it and get our land benefitted from it. I believe if district government uses this idea in upcoming plantation campaigns, and disseminate it with other districts and provinces, with remarkable result we can achieve our national goal of ‘Go Green’.
The project have a deep impact in making me a responsible citizens being as individual to spread the message among my peers and school community through collaboration and team work to bring the change in environment. It became a source of inspiration for all stakeholders for being appreciated at school and community level.
Furthermore, it generated an empathetic, philanthropic and benevolent approach towards the close community fellow beings, like peers, neighbors and relatives. Along with this, it created autonomy, self-reliance and problem-solving skills by running the project successfully. It strengthened and broadened the vision to come out of the box and think big to make this planet a better place to live on for the coming generations.
