Quite organically, students have formed country or regional groups with fellow students from their country or region.
These groups are very helpful and meaningful. For one thing, students can enjoy speaking their own language or making meals the way they made them back home.
But more importantly, in these meetings, students support each other, carry their homelands in their hearts in intercession and in some cases prepare to run together when they get back home.
Some students when they first arrive want to forget about their own country but they eventually find that it’s really great to be with their own countrymen.
The second- and third-year students in these groups come and welcome the first-year students at the Orientation.
Together they plan to represent their cultures in the Festival of Cultures or the Concert of the Nations. Sometimes they host visiting pastors from their countries or take meaningful retreats together.
Make sure to check out the group from your nation or region.
It’s so beautiful to see when students leave here with a renewed vision and deep love for their homeland.
