To open a bank account in the USA you will need:
- I-20
- Your passport.
- Most banks will require a minimum deposit of $50 to $100 to open the account
- Address (to send the bank card)
- Make an appointment with the bank you are interested in.
You can choose the bank you want, but BSSM banks with Tri Counties on Hilltop Drive, and they are used to helping our international students. They come to the Orientation for International Students to make it easier for students to sign up with them.

Attention: It is helpful for you to have a US phone number already because that will be needed to set up online banking. Unfortunately, non-American numbers cannot be used in online banking.
