Buying Furniture
You can look in the Classified section of the local newspaper, The Redding Searchlight, for ads for used furniture and other items. You can buy the newspaper in supermarkets or look online.
Bethel Church has a small space for ads for its members to sell things. It is located outside the Administration Building along the wall between that building and the church building.
You can also look on the following websites: redding.craigslist.org.
A few stores offer less expensive furniture. Here are two:
Big Lots - 2685 Hilltop Drive Redding, CA 96003 (530) 224-0865
Walmart - 1515 Dana Drive Redding, CA (530) 221-2800
In Britain, they are called “boot sales.” In the US, we have “garage sales.” Usually on Saturday and Sunday, people will put their used items in their yards and open garages and driveways and sell them. Look for signs that say “yard sale” or “garage sale.” Sometimes they are advertised in the newspaper. Garage sales are a great place to find good used items.
Thrift shops are an excellent way to find used shoes, clothes, and furniture for a bargain!
