Coaches plan, provide and evaluate the impact of professional learning for educators and leaders to use technology to advance teaching and learning.
A) 4.5: Design professional learning based on needs assessments and frameworks for working with adults to support their cultural, social-emotional, and learning needs.
I decided to include my plans for professional development implementation and my recommendations based on the needs assessment of educators in the EDTL 6320 course. This document, also included in 4.5C, evaluates the needs assessment based on technology needs within K-12 districts. This standard focuses more on the evaluation of the needs assessment, which calls for more collaboration of technology resources. Suggestions (later discussed in 4.5C) involve including PLN networks, accessible technology, and an outline of resources in the district's plan. Please view the full plans by clicking here.
B) 4.5: Build the capacity of educators, leaders, and instructional teams to put the ISTE Standards into practice by facilitating active learning and providing meaningful feedback.
For this artifact, I included an overview tutorial of a piece of helpful hardware that can be used to help build better educational practices through technology and effective practices. Feedback can be applied using the Swivl Tool by recording lectures, which can be replayed as it follows you around the room during your lesson. It is excellent to evaluate the effectiveness of a lesson and to evaluate one's performance. It also applies to assistive technology that can be used to facilitate effective practices through meaningful feedback. You can access the Prezi here.
C) 4.5: Evaluate the impact of professional learning and continually make improvements in order to meet the schoolwide vision for using technology for high-impact teaching and learning.
The second part deals with making impactful decisions for professional development and offers suggestions for incorporating PD opportunities and more transparent collaboration within a district's plan. In this artifact, there are discussions on offering PD opportunities for educators to create individual PLN networks on planned PD days. It also discusses creating shared resources that can be used to distribute digital resources among grade levels and subject areas easily. The aim is to make improvements and offer more support for educators who might need learning coaches. Please view the full plans by clicking here.
