How to Choose Classes
Read instructions below for information on how to select your classes for next year
Step 1:
Complete your Course Selection Worksheet, starting with your core classes. Most core classes are pre-selected for incoming 9th graders. Students enrolling in the Spanish Dual Language program need to choose Dual Language core classes.
Step 2:
Using the AHS Course Selection Elective Sheet as your guide, select 10 electives. Write down the names and course codes for each elective on your worksheet, ranking the classes in order of interest.
Step 3:
Enter your course requests into the Aloha Course Selection Google Form

What classes should I take as a Freshman?
Talk to your current teachers and family to choose the classes that make the most sense for YOU.
REQUIRED COURSES
All 9th grade students take Lit and Comp 9. This is required and will be selected for you.
All 9th grade students take Global Studies. This is a required class.
All 9th grade students take Math. This is a required class.
All 9th grade students take STEM Physics. This is a required class.
Principles of Leadership (POL)
All 9th grade students take this class. This is required and will be selected for you.
All 9th grade students take PE 1. This is required and will be selected for you.
CHOICES
You will be asked to choose 10 electives and rank them in the order of preference.
This is an elective course you may choose to take. It is not required for graduation, but most universities require at least two years for admission.
