Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal
Must complete all of the following: see counselor for form
Demonstrate & document 15 career ready skills
Work with a mentor to confirm skills
Industry-Recognized Credential Seal
Must Complete one of the following:
Earn a 12 point industry recognized credential through GCCC program
Earn 12 credential through BHS program
College Ready Seal
Earn remediation-free scores on the ACT or SAT
Military Enlistment Seal
Must complete one of the following:
Show evidence of enlistment in a branch of the armed services (provide the school a signed copy of the DD Form 4)
Participate in the JROTC program for two years
Enlistment not required
Citizenship Seal
Must complete one of the following:
Earn a 3 or higher on Ohio's test for American History AND Government
Earn a proficient or higher score on AP US History AND AP Gov tests (prior to senior year)
Earn a B or higher in both CCP American History AND Government class
Earn a B or higher in CCP American History AND Government Courses
Science Seal
Must complete one of the following:
Earn a 3 or higher on Ohio's test for Biology
Earn a 2 or higher on one AP science exam (prior to senior year)
Earn a B or higher in an Advanced Science course
Earn a B or higher in a CCP Science course
Honors Diploma Seal
Earn one of five honors diplomas - (see State Criteria )
Seal of Biliteracy
Must complete all of the following:
Demonstrate English proficiency (state testing, ACT, or OELPA)
Demonstrate world language proficiency (AP testing or other ACTFL testing)
Technology Seal
Must complete one of the following:
Earn a proficient or higher score on a related AP Exam (prior to senior year)
Computer Science A or AP Computer Science Principals
Earn a B or higher in related CCP technology course
Complete 1 credit of advanced technology courses through BHS
Ex: Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity
Locally Defined Graduation Seals
What this looks like for BHS:
Community Service Seal
Must complete all of the following:
60 hours of community service at an approved organization
Complete proposal, log of hours, and final reflection worksheet
All hours and final reflection due by May 1st of senior year
Fine and Preforming Arts Seal
Must complete one of the following:
Complete 3 credits of fine or performing arts throughout high school (band, choir, art, acting) with a grade of C or better
Earn 1 credit of finer or performing arts in high school and complete 2 outside opportunities (ex. school or community theatre/plays, OMEA, Dayton Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, marching band, show choir, winterguard, etc)
Outside opportunities must be approved by your counselor and proof of participation must be documented on designated form
Student Engagement Seal
Must complete all of the following:
Complete 3 units of any school sponsored sport, club, or student government activity (1 unit = 1 season or year depending on activity)
Eligible activities include:
PE waiver eligible activities
Student Council
Class Officers
BHS Club with Advisor or Coach
Advisor/coach must sign off upon completion of each unit
Student must attend 80% of activities to be considered
