Year 2 have had a fantastic and productive week, demonstrating creativity, resilience and pride in their work. In English, the children completed their adapted versions of the short film Once in a Lifetime. We were truly blown away by the rich language and detailed descriptions they used to bring their stories to life. The children showed great imagination in developing their own characters, settings and journeys, carefully selecting vocabulary to engage the reader. Their stamina for writing and commitment to improving their work has been particularly impressive.
In maths, we have been applying the four operations to solve word problems involving length and height. The children needed to read each question carefully and think deeply about the mathematical vocabulary in order to decide which operation was required. They demonstrated excellent reasoning skills, perseverance and a growing confidence when tackling multi-step problems.
In art, the children completed their collage sea turtles. They thoughtfully selected colours and textures to achieve the desired effect, considering how different materials could represent patterns and features. The finished pieces are vibrant and full of character.
Wishing you all a restful half term and we look forward to welcoming you all back in Module 4.
