Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of Module 3, I want to reflect on what has been a truly remarkable and busy module at Leigh Academy Bearsted. This period has been defined by achievement and the vibrant community spirit that makes our academy so special. First and foremost, I extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful children, dedicated staff, and you—our parents and carers. Success is always a partnership, and your ongoing support allows our pupils to thrive.
Significant milestones were reached this term, including the successful IB PYP re-evaluation, which showcased our commitment to international-mindedness and inquiry-based learning. Furthermore, we were delighted to host a learning walk with our CEO, Mr Beamish, who was incredibly impressed with the high quality of teaching and learning. Seeing such engagement recognised at a high level is a testament to the hard work of our team.
Education at Bearsted always extends beyond the classroom walls. We have seen local trips to Invicta Care Home, where pupils represented us with kindness, alongside a wonderful visit to the Science Museum for Year 4 that sparked great curiosity. A massive thank you must also go to Mrs Leid, Miss Kimber, and the supporting staff who took over 40 children to the O2 Arena for Young Voices 2026. It was an experience they will never forget.
We are also thrilled with the launch of our Pupil Employment Scheme, led by Mrs Rose. It has been wonderful to see so many children taking on their new roles with dedication and enthusiasm, learning vital life skills while contributing to daily academy life. As we head into the break, I wish you all a restful half-term and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 23rd February 2026.
Best Wishes,
Mrs J Tipple
Principal
