What a fantastic week it has been! On Tuesday, our academy joined millions across the globe to celebrate Safer Internet Day. This year’s theme pushed us to look toward the future as we explored the rapidly changing world of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
From our youngest learners to our eldest, the focus was on one key question: How can we be both creative and responsible in a world of new technology?
The highlight of our celebrations was a special whole-school assembly dedicated to the safe use of AI. We were incredibly lucky to hear from our very own Digital Champions from the Pupil Employment Scheme.
They took to the stage to share their insights on:
What AI actually is (and what it isn't!).
The importance of fact-checking information generated by bots.
How to keep personal data private when using new apps.
Following the assembly, the buzz of conversation moved back to the classrooms. Every class took part in hands-on activities designed to help them reflect on their own digital footprints. Pupils discussed how to use AI as a tool for learning while ensuring they remain kind, honest, and safe online.
Our Digital Champions haven't just been talking the talk; they’ve been working hard behind the scenes! Their latest mission was to breathe new life into our Acceptable Use Policy (originally shared in October) and distill it into top tips for their peers.
The result? An amazing video that breaks down our safety rules and offers practical advice for staying secure online.
Watch their masterpiece alongside this text.
Our Digital Champions have made an impact in such a short amount of time. Their Line Manager, Mrs. Champ, wanted to share a special shout-out:
"I am incredibly proud of the hard work, leadership, and creativity the Digital Champions have shown. Evan, Daniel, Judah & Tanya - what a brilliant start to your journey in these roles—keep up the fantastic work!"
Well done to everyone for making our academy a safer place to learn and play online.
