Thank you for being an important part of the DCSB family. You are choosing to volunteer and there aren't enough "thanks" given to the many people who give of their time to help others. So we'd like to "thank you" for partnering with us to help make our school a better place for all the students.
In accordance with the new State of Florida legislative updates for school safety and given that DCSB does not have sovereign immunity (like all county district schools do), all volunteers must complete the attached training prior to being able to volunteer. This includes chaperoning field trips, before and after school events and monitoring halls during testing. In the past you just needed a "BACKGROUND CHECK", however starting with the 2019-2020 school year Charter Schools USA will require you to complete a training course as well as the background check. Please open the document (PDF) below (named CSUSA Volunteer Training Requirements) for information on how to complete this training and be eligible for chaperoning/volunteering this school year. There is also a link for the background check process (through the Duval County Schools). This is a 2 part process [ 1. completion of Safe Schools Training Course 2. background check screening]
Again, I would like to personally THANK YOU for choosing to be an integral part of our schools continued success by volunteering your time.
The background "check" information needs to be submitted online at the Duval County School website. The link below will take you to the page where you can submit the information. The school will be notified of the status of the background check. Please do this ahead of time, it can take a few weeks to complete. If you are not sure if your registration has expired, please register again.
