Math Facts are the single most important skill a student must have to be successful in elementary math. Students who do not do well in Math in the higher grades were students who did not know their math facts when they were in elementary. It is the ONLY math homework I have ever assigned. Your student absolutely must know their math facts. There is a section of our website dedicated to this essential requirement. It can be found by clicking here ( MATH FACTS )
Below you will see every student in the class and their math fact proficiency level. Ask your student their student number and you will be able to see their progress. Every student knows their own number as it is the same number on their I-pad, student coat hook, and student folder.
If your student is in the RED, this is a "wake up" to help them address this deficiency now before it gets worse (and it will). You want to be in the green at the very least. Every student in the class started the school year in the 1st red box. You can see the growth they have achieved throughout the school year. More than half the class (12 students) have already mastered the 2nd grade math facts. KUDOS to them! Push hard and you will win too.
