NWEA
NWEA is a powerful assessment tool our school is using to evaluate student learning gains and proficiency. The assessments are in reading and math for our grade level. The assessment scores will be made available to you. If you would like to read more about NWEA, you can visit their website at: NWEA website
***** NWEA RESOURCES FOR ADVANCING YOUR STUDENT ****
Below you will find a link to specific lessons and practice available FREE at Khan Academy. I strongly suggest opening a Khan Academy account for your child. They have "links" created to provide specific support in the way of lessons (with online blackboard) and practice questions. Once you open the document, it will provide extensive links that correlate to the NWEA/RIT score which your child achieved. Beginning on page 4 you will see the specific "ranges" which the links correlate to in the major areas your child was tested in. If you click those individual links, you will be offered instruction and practice in the specific areas your child was found to be weak in. That is a HUGE asset. The lessons are correlated to the Florida Standards, which is what we teach and assess. If you have set up a Khan Academy account please e-mail me and let me know this has been "set up".
