Barlby Bridge School is a fully inclusive primary school with excellent support in place for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). We are committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing across the whole school community.
We work closely with a range of outside agencies and are always looking for ways to further develop and improve our practice.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Lucy Bentley. Mrs Bentley can be contacted via the main school number 01757 703650. Mr Platt is covering for Mrs Bentley whilst on maternity leave. Parents and carers are welcome to request an appointment with either of them at any time to discuss SEND needs or concerns. In some cases, it may be helpful to speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
All North Yorkshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, whatever their specific needs, are able to make the best possible progress in school.
North Yorkshire Council publishes its Local Offer, which brings together information for children and young people with SEND and their parents or carers in one place. If you would like to find out more about North Yorkshire’s Local Offer, please click here.
Our school policies, including those relating to SEND, can be downloaded using the links below. Please contact the school office if you would like a printed copy of any policy.
