Barlby Bridge School is a fully inclusive school with excellent support for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). We are committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing throughout school.
We work closely with outside agencies and are always looking for ways we can improve our practice. The name of the SEND coordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Lucy Bentley. Mrs Bentley can be contacted on the main school number 01757 703650 and appointments with her can be requested by parents at any time to discuss SEND needs or concerns. In some cases, it might be appropriate to have a discussion with the class teacher in the first instance.
All North Yorkshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, whatever their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. The Local Authority publishes its Local Offer which provides information for children and young people with SEND and their parents or carers in a single place. If you would like to find out more information on North Yorkshire’s Local Offer, please click here. Our school policies can be downloaded on the links below. Please contact the school office if you would like a printed version of our policies.
