Curriculum Intent Statement
The whole-school curriculum at Barlby Bridge is ever-evolving. We are committed to providing a curriculum which is engaging, diverse, inclusive and aspirational. Our core aim is to develop long-term knowledge of a broad range of subjects critical to life in modern Britain. It is essential that pupils remember and can apply their knowledge when encountering new learning and different contexts. Starting with the National Curriculum, we have planned the progression of knowledge and skills across subjects sequentially across the school phases.
We also know that great learning only takes place once barriers to such have been removed. Therefore, we take pride our caring and inclusive approach at the school. Our school’s values ‘CARE’ are the main drivers around everything we do. Our aim is that they permeate all aspects of Barlby Bridge life and can be seen ‘in action’ each day:
Finally, we know ‘it takes a village’ to raise children. Therefore, we pride ourselves on working together as a whole-school community to support our young people. We liaise carefully with parents, carers and the children themselves as we develop our curriculum in school.
