The School Day

At Barlby Bridge School, the school day begins at 8:45am and ends at 3:15pm, totalling 32.5 hours per week. This is calculated from the official start of the school day to the official end of the compulsory school day. It includes a morning break, a lunchtime break, and for some classes a daily mile session in the afternoon. Teachers may also build in short ‘brain breaks’ throughout the day to support focus and wellbeing.

For most classes:

• Phonics, Reading and Writing activities take place before morning break at 10:45am.

• After break, Maths is taught from 11:00am – 12:00pm.

• Other areas of our broad and balanced curriculum are taught during the afternoon sessions.
