SUMMER Camp 2026
It Takes a Village!
Our Community has really Showed UP for our children this summer!
As a result of the various changes to numerous federally funded programs our program was faced with a budget cut of $30,000 in addition to our already limited budget. We have had to make several changes regarding staffing, activities, and field trips to accommodate our limited funds throughout the year.
SUMMER CAMP 2026 Community Partners!
The Milledgeville Fire Department has been a tremendous supporter of our program every year but this year really outshines them all!
In addition to them sending a firetruck along with a crew to participate in our end of the year celebration they also sponsored the cost of our Family Cookout!

The YES Program is awesome because our teachers are awesome!
The YES Program is funded by the Georgia Department of Education's and is an extension of Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers. The Program offers an opportunity to further engage students in academic, social, and physical activities beyond school hours. Proven to have a positive effect on student achievement, the Program incorporates both academic and enrichment activities. During the academic year, YES meets Monday-Thursday from 3:45pm-6:45pm. Students participate in homework help, language arts, math, science, art, technology, physical activities, and more. Each summer, the YES Program offers a 4 week acceleration and remediation program designed to encourage students to become curious learners. During the academic year and summer, the Program partners with the Baldwin Board of Education Nutrition Department to provide a nutritious snack /meal each day.
All sessions (academic year and summer) provide a safe and caring environment, small class sizes (10:1 student-to-teacher ratio), and afterschool activities aligned with the Georgia Afterschool and Youth Development Quality Standards (ASYD). The YES Program and staff promote student accountability, responsibility, and dependability, habits consistent with success throughout life.
The goals of the YES Program at Oakhill Middle School are to: 1) Improve Academic Performance, 2) Build Student Capacity, and 3) Increase Parent Engagement for 140 students each year.
