When You or Someone You Care About Needs Help

Remember, if you need to see me and I'm not in my office, you may leave me a note in the grey box located beside my office door. It is locked and only I have the key. I check it frequently throughout the day.

Leave me a message, whether this is an emergency, your contact information, and your name. I'll get to you as soon as possible.

Coming next summer...Camp Alex

Campers will have the opportunity to take advantage of the wonderful facilities offered at Ferncliff for a summer camp experience they will never forget. Camp Alex provides an exclusive opportunity for ages 10-17 who are loss survivors of suicide (family member and/or close friend). Therapeutic delivery is provided by well known and highly regarded Grief Counselor, Greg Adams. "Greg Time" quickly becomes one of the camper's favorite events and the kids absolutely love Greg (as do all of us). An annual event sponsored by the Alex Blackwood Foundation for HOPE, Camp Alex is a summer camp opportunity that provides help, hope and healing for an at risk population of loss survivors.

Additional information and on-line registration is available at: www.AlexBlackwoodFoundation.org

Thanks for sharing and Thanks for caring. Together, may we continue to deliver HOPE one precious person at a time.

Arkansas Children's Hospital Center for Good Mourning

The mission of the Center for Good Mourning is to provide, improve and increase support and assistance to bereaved children and families in Arkansas through education, program development, and grief support programs.

Grief Support Groups are free educational support groups for young people who have experienced the death of someone close to them. The purpose is to help young people cope with their feelings of grief and loss in a supportive setting with similar age peers. Each group is set up by age and has approximately 6-10 children or teens. The groups meet in 8 weekly sessions. A Parent Orientation meeting takes place prior to the start of each 8-week group series. An optional group for parents and adult caregivers in also available during the 8-week program. All groups will meet in the East Campus building of Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1621 W. 10th Street, Little Rock, AR. Interested parents and adult caregivers can call 501-364-7000 to request an application, or can print an application off the website at www.goodmourningcenter.org.

Spring 2018 Grief Support Groups: The next series of Good Mourning Grief Support Groups will be held each Tuesday from March 27, 2018, through May 15, 2018, with a Parent Orientation on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
