Juniors are allowed two days to make college visits. Please check out your prospective schools' websites to see if they are setting aside special days just for 11th graders. Many do.

First Electric Cooperative iwill select up to four area students to participate in the Electric Cooperatives Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. This all-expense-paid trip will involve more than 1,500 students from across the nation in touring our nation's capital in June. Applications may be completed online under the “Community” tab at www.firstelectric.coop. Any high school junior whose parents or guardians are members (customers) of First Electric is eligible for the Youth Tour. To enter the contest, students must submit an application by ?. The winners will be selected based on information supplied on the applications and personal interviews.

During the spring semester, the University of Arkansas cordially invites high school juniors to attend our open house for future Razorbacks. Ready Razorback will allow you to meet current students and faculty, tour the campus, have lunch on campus, and learn about financial aid, scholarships, and campus housing. Questbridge- College Prep Scholars Program
This is a program for academically outstanding, low-income high school juniors, connecting students with scholarships to attend schools that are partnered with the program. Typically, those who qualify are in the top 5-10% of their class, earning mostly A's in the most challenging classes, and whose family (based on family of 4) earns less that $65,000 annually with minimal assets.

First Electric Cooperative Trip for Juniors
High school juniors explore the nation’s capital on the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Days for College Visits
11th graders are given two excused days to visit colleges. You are also given two excused days to visit colleges during your senior year. You may not rollover unused junior days into your senior year. Many schools have special days set aside just for juniors. You will find that information on their admission offices' websites. Interested in Attending a Military Service Academy?
If you are even considering attending one of the academies, I strongly encourage you to investigate participating in one of their Summer Seminars. This intense week-long experience during the summer before the junior year in high school gives a student a taste of what life at the academy would be like. The student carries all the cost, typically ranging from $300 to $400, in addition to the cost of travel. Clinical Internships
This program offers senior students who are interested in a health care profession an opportunity to experience hands on patient care at Unity Health Medical Center.
Students will spend three days a week on rotation at
UHMC in an unpaid position, and two days a week in the classroom.
The classroom setting will be on the ASU Searcy
Campus. During rotation at the hospital the students observe
various services in order to become familiar with as many
different phases of health care as possible. Students must apply and have a GPA of 3.0 and 3 letters of recommendations from teachers.
This class is taught in the mornings from 8:00am-10:30am.
