Scholarship Search Engines

It's true that there is a lot of money out there, but you must commit to work for it and spend a good amount of time. There seems to be an inexhaustible number of scholarship search engines to help you find money to help pay for your education. Some are connected to other agencies and your information may be shared with colleges or other entities that will contact you.

I suggest you create a new email exclusively for your use in all things related to scholarships and post-secondary education.

Your email should be an address that indicates you are a responsible, competent person that might be worthy of funding, such as johndoe@gmail.com or Jdoe@yahoo.com. It should also be one that you check often and regularly and that you will be able to access after you graduate high school.

Then, choose a search engine and go into it and create an account and profile. The more accurately and completely you put in your information, the more relevant the search will be. Many search engines are free, and I suggest you use those.

College Greenlight is a totally free resource for any traditionally underrepresented student who is serious about getting into and thriving at their perfect college. We help students discover, research, and build relationships with the colleges and universities that will allow them to succeed. Our students receive a customized list of the awards best suited to their academic, social, and community accomplishments.

We also serve the counselors, teachers, and community-based organizations who have given their time and expertise to empower these students. We have developed a host of tools for these college access professionals to help them track their students' progress to and through college. College Greenlight maintains a meaningful relationship with our users through an active network of publishing, blogging, newsletter correspondence, and social media.

There is also a website www.student-view.com that is offering $11,000 in scholarships. HOWEVER, know that they are collecting information for colleges and universities and selling that through their company. You can find out more about that at www.studentinsights.com.
