Posted March 12, 2021:

My name is Rob Gordon and I work in the Office of Admissions at Arkansas State University. Beginning on Monday, March 15, our office is offering Virtual Office Hours for individual students that would like to meet with an Admissions Counselor at A-State. These short meetings are another way to connect students with staff members that can make sure they are on the right path to becoming an admitted student.

We will have Admissions Counselors available Monday – Friday at 9:00 – 11:00 am and 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Students can access the zoom meetings by using the following link: http://www.astate.edu/info/admissions/undergraduate/virtual-office-hours/. Please feel free to share this information and graphic with your students.

ASTATE SCHOLAR EXTENDED DEADLINE!

We want to inform you of a recent change to the A-State Scholar application process. As you may already know, the A-State Scholar is the top institutional scholarship award at Arkansas State University. The minimum qualifications for this competitive scholarship are a 32+ composite ACT and a 3.50+ high school GPA.

This year, due to limited ACT access, we have extended the A-State Scholar deadline to February 1, 2021 at 5 pm (CST). This will allow your students additional time to submit their application materials and to gather letters of recommendation. Keep in mind that students must be formally admitted to A-State and have submitted their official ACT scores and high school transcript prior to the February 1, 2021 deadline.

We understand and empathize with the challenges high school students, counselors, teachers, and administrators have faced this year as a result of COVID-19. We have extended the A-State Scholar deadline this year to assist hard working and highly motivated students as much as possible. We hope your students will take advantage of this opportunity and apply for this prestigious scholarship.

To learn more about the A-State Scholar and how students can apply, please visit our website. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Financial Aid & Scholarships at 870-972-2310 or scholarships@astate.edu.

1. The university WILL super score the ACT for institutional scholarship offers beginning with our fall 2018 offers. Admissions will also accept ACT super scores for admission to the university.

2. In regards to the A-State Scholar, any upgrades would only be A-State Spirit through the A-State Excellence scholarships because the A-State Scholar will be awarded around the second week of December, as always.

Hopefully this is good news for a lot of students!

ASTATE License2HOWL Freshmen Scholarships

Five License2HOWL Scholarships are available for the 2020 -2021 academic year for incoming freshmen at Arkansas State. These scholarships are $5,000 for the year and are renewable for recipients who continue to meet criteria and re-apply.
