Instructional staff receive a $1,000 budget for the school year. Instructional staff may use their professional discretion as to how best to spend this money.
However, instructional funds should be spent on items that will directly benefit students’ learning and must align with our Charter tennents (PML, Social Leadership and Healthy Living) and PML practices. If an instructional staff member is uncertain if an item will be reimbursed/purchased via their instructional budget, they should reach out to the Site Director for consultation before making a purchase.
The Site Director reviews and approves all purchases.
An instructional staff member may choose to buy an item with their personal money and then request a reimbursement, via the Reimbursement Protocol (see below). Or, an instructional staff member may reach out to the Site Director and Finance Manager, Celeste Story, to have the item purchased for them (this may take longer to receive).
The Finance Manager does keep a record of each instructional staff member's purchases throughout the year. However, it is strongly recommended that staff keep their own spreadsheet of expenditures throughout the year.
