About Digital Badges

"Digital Badge Credentials are an assessment and credentialing mechanism that is housed and managed online. In APS, a Digital Badge is a credential that validates students’ Colorado Essential Skills, which are a broad set of knowledge, work habits, and character traits that are believed—by educators, school reformers, college professors, employers, and others—to be critically important to success in today’s world, particularly in collegiate programs and contemporary careers and workplaces. Students who earn all five badges (see above), will then gain a Summit Badge, and can choose a Career Exploration experience. Because APS has partnered with local and national companies and organizations who value the above skills, this means the student can choose an experience that helps enrich their personal interests.
