Each student will be able to digitally paint a still life drawing that they create with their observational skills while using the blend and paint tools in a digital art program
For this project, each student is given tips on how to take a photo of their own still-life or choose to take a photo of an in-class setup.
In Lesson 1, students review how to shade various 3D forms for the purpose of practicing blending and shading digitally.
Key concepts students gain from this lesson is how to identify a light source for any given image and how to apply shading with a light source.
In Lesson 2, students are then taught how to look for and draw 3D forms they observe in a life drawing of their own. In this step students also learn about accurate proportions and the relationships between objects that overlap each other. These are called observational skills, which are imperative to life drawing.
In Lesson 3, the final lesson, students start digitally applying blocks of color and value based on their reference photo and begin blending and shading like they practiced from lesson 1.
