Olcay Akman is a professor of mathematics at Illinois State University, Normal, USA. He is the director of the Center for Collaborative Studies in Mathematical Biology and the executive director of the Intercollegiate Biomathematics Alliance, a consortium of universities collaborating and sharing resources in the pursuit of scholarship, teaching, and advanced research development. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the journals Letters in Biomathematics and Spora. Olcay Akman's research interests include computing-intensive modeling, using evolutionary computing and machine learning based methods.
