Dr. Flores was born in Chile. He arrived at University of South Dakota (USD) in August 1989 with PhD. in Numerical Analysis from the University of Iowa.
His dissertation “Iterative Methods for Solving Integral Equations of Second Kind.” was directed by Dr. Kendall E. Atkinson.
His research interest is in the areas of Mathematical Ecology, Mathematical Modeling applied to Population Dynamics, Scientific Computing, Ecological Networks, and Mathematical Modeling in Biodiversity in polluted environments.
He is a Fulbright scholar, and visited the Instituto de Matematicas at Pontificia Unbiversidad Catolica de Valparaiso, Valparaiso, Chile 2008.
