Dr. Anarina Murillo

About:

Anarina Murillo is a postdoctoral fellow affiliated with Arizona State University and Brown University. Prior to this, she was an NIH T32 postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the Department of Biostatistics in the Statistical Genetics Training Program and affiliated with the NIH-funded Nutrition Obesity Research Center. Her main research interests lie in the application of statistical, computational, and mathematical modeling to address topics related to diabetes, obesity, nutrition, health disparities, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic disease epidemiology. She has also collaborated broadly on other topics in infectious diseases.

She completed her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences with a certificate in statistics at Arizona State University under the mentorship of Dr. Carlos Castillo-Chavez and Dr. Jiaxu Li. She also received an M.S. in Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences and a B.S. in Psychology at Arizona State University.
