Dr. Gerard Olivar-Tost

Dr. Gerard Olivar-Tost received the title of Mathematician from the University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain) in 1987 and the Doctor of Sciences - Mathematics by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) in 1997 (Cum Laude). From 1987 to 2005 he was Associate professor within the Department of Applied Mathematics IV at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. In 2005 he moved to Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where he currently works as a Full professor. He is Adjunct Faculty Member at ASU. His subjects of interest are in Engineering, Applied and Industrial Mathematics. Specifically, in applications to science and engineering modeling and simulation, nonlinear dynamics, bifurcations and complex systems. In 2011, he founded and held the Presidency of the Colombian Section of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
